In this jeans-with-jeans look, the rip on the custom shorts was softer and closer to the hem, making the garment understated and prone to wear. The combination doesn't require the rest of the pieces to follow the same style, and it's even worth wearing neater clothes to balance the look.
In this proposal the boyfriend shorts are looser and high-waisted and just because of the lighter color they already have a tendency to wear out. To compose the rest of the customization we bet on making small tears throughout the piece, from the hem to small details in the pocket area.
Following a neat look proposal with torn custom shorts, the composition was made with the shredded piece, t-shirt, sequin cardigan and nude heeled sandals. The result is super charming, and the messy features of the shorts were balanced with more sophisticated pieces.

If you like the stripped style, but don't want to risk so much with tears, you can use the technique of fraying only the hem. The result is lovely, and to customize the piece with this style, you don't even need that much skill.
These custom shorts show exactly that the technique of fraying the hem leaves the piece with a more worn look and looks great to combine with neater pieces, like a blazer and heeled sandals; enhancing the look and balancing the pieces.
In this proposal the fraying was more intense, making the piece more eye-catching for the relaxed style. And in order not to leave the look too loose, it is worth to be inspired by the composition with a shirt and high heels to create an elegant look and harmonize pieces of different styles.

If the idea is to give a very different feel to the custom shorts, go for the idea of mixing fabrics and making collages that further enhance the piece. For this, it is worth taking the basic denim shorts and apply lace or printed fabrics to give a new air to the piece.
To change the face of the denim shorts, here it was decided to stick lace on one of the legs of the piece, and this gave a new air and a lot of charm to the outfit. The proposal of using lace made the customized shorts tidier and they look great to combine with a shirt in the day to day, or even for a neat look with a blazer.
Another solution for custom shorts with fabric is this model. Here the piece won the application of printed fabric that refers to the flag of the United States. The result is great, and an excellent choice for creating a casual look.

For this piece, the idea was to fade the hem of the jean shorts. And the deeper color on the top of the shorts enhances the faded look. To use the piece with this customization style, the printed blouse and heeled sandals were opted for.
Here, the model chosen was a one-piece with a slightly more intense shade of jeans and this values customization with bleach. The composition of the look was done with a white drop sleeve t-shirt and flats, making the look great for day to day wear.

The application of pearls is ideal for those who want to leave the custom shorts with a neater look, after all, the pearls already have a more sophisticated feature and the result is a charm to make the look more elegant even with jeans.
In this model, the application of the pearls was done one by one following an alignment order. The small beads were placed all over the front of the shorts and to compose the look we went for a mix between sophisticated and casual, as the printed tank top balances the neat look.
Another proposal to apply pearls on custom shorts is to use pearls in messy outfits. And to compose the look, it is worth following a more careful proposal with lace overlay and nude pumps, which elongate the legs.

With studs and spikes
Studs and spikes are a great idea for customization, and are ideal for those who want to bring a rock in roll approach to the look. Besides being super cool, small pieces are still inexpensive and easy to apply to the piece.
In this proposal, the denim shorts had a very basic look and with the application of studs on just one of the legs, the look changed completely. To compose the rest of the look, we opted to wear a printed t-shirt with overlay and varnished booties on the feet.
You can also take advantage of those colored shorts you've already worn to boredom and apply some spikes to create a new look. Once ready, it's worth wearing the custom shorts with a t-shirt and some studded sandals to complete the look with a rock in roll touch.

The trend of custom tie dye style shorts is a great reference for those who want to add color to the look and even create a great piece for spring and summer looks.
In this proposal, the old denim shorts were completely transformed and gained colors like pink and orange, making the piece super charming and beautiful to show off on hot days. And to compose the look, they went for a light t-shirt and espadrilles on the feet.
If you even think it's cool to mix colors, but prefer a less colorful style, this model is a great inspiration. Here, the piece was transformed only with green tones and allows you to create amazing looks, like the composition with silk shirt and silver tennis shoes, which give elegance to the look.

How to make personalized shorts - step by step
Tutorials
- On stiff paper (cardboard type) make leopard patterns;
- With a pencil, cut out the drawings to make a sort of graphic;
- Rest the graphic on the shorts, use a permanent fabric marker and start painting the drawings.
- Make a V cut on the side of the shorts;
- Take a piece of lace that follows the cut;
- Using thread and needle, sew the lace into a V-shape.
- Take a pair of jeans you no longer wear and measure the length you would like for the shorts;
- Pass a straight line with chalkboard chalk on the shorts;
- Using a coffee cup, place it in a straight line and start drawing the ruffles;
- After making the design on both legs, just use scissors to cut following the ruffles.
