What is Surface Piercing?
O piercing surface,
as the name implies, it is done on the flattest surfaces of the skin.
This means that if you wanted to get a piercing somewhere on your body different from the traditional, you can now opt for surface!
(as long as the region is flat and free of joints)
Since the creation of the piercing surface, several different jewels have been used for perforations, but most of them were expelled out of the skin, due to rejection by the client's body.
In the image above you can see several models of jewelry and the way most of them tend to be expelled and rejected, less the Surface 90%. After the creation of this jewel, body piercers started to only recommend its use to their clients, since the rate of healing problems was much smaller from the others.
The jewel bar is perpendicular to skin, passing through the adipose tissue and exiting at an angle of 90°. Sounds complicated, right? But it turns out that it is only at a depth of 2,5 to 4 mm surface, depending on the client's skin type.
As we said in one of our posts, it is very difficult to differentiate between surface piercing and microdermal piercing, as both are under the skin and can be done in any region of the body. The difference is in the exit points of the two: on the surface there are one input and one output on the skin, already in the microdermal there are just one way out.
Basically, if you only have one ball, you can be sure it's the microdermal. If you have two, it could be either one, but it's more likely the surface.
They are so similar that microdermal is also used to imitate a surface, as the appearance is the same if you place two of them next to each other. If you are afraid of the high rejection rates of surface and prefer not to take chances, try microdermal!

It hurts?
The pain of piercing any piercing depends on your sensitivity to pain, some people are more sensitive than others. As it is a very superficial piercing, many people say they don't feel much pain (and some don't even feel anything), but only you can know what you will feel at the time.
It is worth remembering that, after placing the piercing, you will only need to change the balls (if you want), the bar is still there
If you get sick and want to remove the jewelry, you can do it yourself or, much more advisable, you can go back to the professional who put it on and ask him to remove it.

You can see that the process is very quick! If you like this piercing, go ahead, even if you feel a little pain there at the time, it is only temporary. After looking in the mirror, you'll even forget what you felt (own experience haha)!
Price
The value depends a lot on the professional and the jewel you choose, but the values arrive up to 150 reais. A hint: never choose a body piercer for the price, follow recommendations from other people so that you have all the guarantee and security when it comes to piercing yours.
Care
Like microdermal, surface care is the same as for a conventional piercing. You can use warm salt water to clean and help healing and use clean tissues or towels (cotton can get caught in the jewelry).
The only difference is the use of a permeable bandage for the first two or three days to prevent bacteria from entering and to ensure that it stays securely in place. After a week, clean with a neutral dental floss, as normally the ball sticks well to the skin.
Avoid touching your jewelry with your hands, towels and clothes or anything else that could be dirty or get caught in the jewelry. Also avoid any make-up in or near the region, it may contain substances that are harmful to your 'wound'.
Each body piercer indicates a series of care that they think is best for their clients, always consult their recommendation.
N o t a : If your surface is on the tongue, the precautions you must follow are those of piercing air. Some of them are to rinse your mouth with warm water and salt and suck on ice in the first few days to reduce swelling, in addition to always practicing good oral hygiene.
