How to make a scarf with pompons: step by step

There are countless ways to make a scarf with pompoms, and they can involve techniques you already know, such as crochet and knitting, or simply using your hands and arms. Below, you can see four amazing and super easy steps.

with your fingers

This technique is one of the simplest and can be done with any type of wool. However, since we are talking about a pom-pom scarf, you should ideally use a poá wool pom-pom.

To start, lay two pompoms on top of your hand and pass the rest of the line between your thumb and forefinger. Then zig and zag the other fingers. When the thread is on the little finger, pass it through the palm of your hand. At this point, you should cross the lines. Pull the yarn that wraps around your little finger over the other yarn and through your finger. Do the same with the other fingers, except the thumb. Avoid using pompoms to avoid knots. Pass the yarn through your palm again and repeat the last process.

Use this technique until the scarf is the size you want. To finish, take the yarn from the little finger, move it to the ring finger and remove the yarn that was previously on the ring finger. Then move the line from the index finger to the middle finger and also remove the one that was already on that finger. Finally, use a needle to join the two remaining threads and your scarf is ready!

with arms

After choosing the pom pom line of your choice, separate about 7 pom poms, make a hook with it and then a knot. Put that hook in your fist. Then string three pom poms, make a smaller crochet hook and thread it through the same cuff. Repeat the process 30 times.

Then, with the same hand as the yarn, hold the third pompom loosely, pull the first loop and pass it through to the other arm. Do the same with all 30 loops.

Repeat the process, passing from one arm to the other until the scarf is the desired length.

To finish, attach the first loop to the other arm. Hold the yarn and pass it through the next loop. With the two loops on the other arm, pick up the one on the back and loosen it. Hold the end of the yarn, pass the first loop of the other arm inside, join it with the other loop and release the last loop. Repeat the process until you run out of loops and tie a knot at the end.

If there is no yarn to finish, tie the loop that was on the other arm with a knot and remove all the remaining loops from the arms, holding them with your hands. With the last loose end of the yarn, tie a knot tying the remaining loops together.

crochet

To make a thin pom-pom scarf, using the crochet technique, you will need a 100 g pom-pom yarn, a #3 or 3.25 ml crochet hook and a pair of scissors.

First, leave two pompoms at the end, then between the second and third pompoms, you will need to make the loop. To do this, twist the yarn, as if you were going to tie a knot and when it is shaped like a cursive "e", pass the crochet hook through the middle and wrap the yarn with it, pulling it inward. the "e".". Tighten firmly so that the needle is secured.

Now, you must skip three pom-poms and make the loop again, but this time without turning the yarn. Wrap the yarn twice around the needle, passing through the loop. Repeat this process until the scarf is the desired size.

You can also do it the other way, alternating between three and four pom-poms.

To finish, skip two pompoms and cut the yarn. Again make two loops, pulling the penultimate pompom to the row. Then tie a knot at each end of the pom-pom scarf and cut off the excess.

knitting

Now, to make a knitted scarf with pom-poms, you will need pom-pom yarn and a #5 knitting needle.

To start, skip three pom-poms. Between the third and fourth pompoms, thread the needle with yarn. Then make the cursive letter "e" and place it on the needle from the inside. Repeat the process with the space between the next pom-poms. The number of pom poms you will sew depends on how wide you want the scarf to be.

After making the first loop, pass the other needle through the stitch at the end of the first needle. Wrap the second needle with yarn and pass it through. Do the same with the next stitch. Move on to the next pompom and repeat the process until the end of the row. When you finish that first set, remove the needle and start over. Do this until the scarf is the desired size.

Work only with the thin yarn, which is between the pompoms.

To finish off, pass the crochet through the last two stitches and return the created loop back to the main needle. Skip a pom pom and repeat the process.
